The well-known French label of fashion, known as Coperni, is often prominent for their execution of designs that undergo linking traditional fashion with the use of modern science and technology, and the Spring Summer 2023 show of the glorious Paris Fashion Week was no exception.

For the first time in the history of fashion, spectators watched in awe as a mysterious white liquid was sprayed onstage on none other than the charming Bella Hadid, who effortlessly donned the chic ensemble, complete with an off-shoulder and single-leg slit, formed into wearable cloth in an accuracy of approximate ten minutes, as part of her closing walk nearing the end of the show, carrying the dress with utmost confidence, fierce alongside a touch of elegance and serenity from the moment it was sprayed on her.

The outfit was curated with an agent known as ‘Fabrican’- made of natural and synthetic polymers as well as liquid solvents binding fibres that evaporate upon contact with any surface- such as Hadid’s body. The texture of the material can be easily controlled as per the binding agent and fibre type used.

Needless to say, Coperni has officially joined the ‘iconic moments in fashion history’ wall of fame, standing with pride alongside a number of classics- such as the 1999 Spring Show of Alexander McQueen, which saw model Shalom Harlow don a plain white dress later sprayed with paint by none other than robots onstage. It is indeed an invigorating sight to witness fashion seamlessly envelop into a wonderful marriage with the concept of technology, and be able to deliver powerful statements with each change in the advancement of science, while also continuing to have its strong hold on the many revolutionary ideologies it has had a wondrous impact on.
