Behind Every Closed Door

Behind every closed door,
Lies what seems to be the life of dreams,
Happiness, perfection, and a strong bond,
Yet all is not what it seems.
Behind every closed door,
Are screams waiting to get out,
Of tears streaming down soft cheeks,
Of whimpers struggling to break out.
Behind every closed door,
Are secrets endured by the four walls
For they cannot speak, only witness
For help to come, who could they call?
Behind every closed door,
Is a voice that has been silenced
A void that is embedded in the victim
A void of freedom wishing to be filled.
