Who knew that a single unit

Of technology could hold the power

To decide how our success rockets or dips

How, with pride, over us it would tower.

Who knew that platforms designed

To provide a safe space to voice it out

Would soon be the very reason

That each voice now held a doubt?

Who knew that social media

Would be the one befriended

Would be the one that plays tricks on our minds

Would be why capabilities and dreams were swifty ended

Who knew that its mere existence

Would soon give way to every fear

Of watching the world enter an endless slumber

Of disconnecting and silencing all those near
